Making History, Even When It’s Hard

2021-01-11T07:54:51-08:00

March 2020 was a pivotal time in Big Valley Christian School’s history. Our team to make a choice: we could put our heads down in fear and defeat or dust ourselves off, lift our heads high, follow the Lord’s plan and make this moment in history our finest hour. Countless ups and downs, twists and turns, state and county mandates, recommendations, guidance documents, protocols, tiers, distance learning day camp, waivers, health checks and Zoom meetings have kept us all busy over the last 10 months, to say the least. It certainly hasn’t been easy, but it has been completely worth it. [...]

Are You Ready? – Family Email March 13, 2019

2019-03-26T11:12:36-07:00

Are You Ready?   I recently met a family who had to flee from their home country because it had become too dangerous for them to stay there as Christians. I saw a list a few weeks ago of the fifty most dangerous countries in the world for Christians, and it is very sobering. In Acts 21, as Paul was preparing to go to Jerusalem, people kept warning him not to go. They were afraid for his life and thought it was too dangerous. There are many places in the world today where it is dangerous to be a Christian. But [...]

Focus Group Feedback

2019-01-29T12:05:07-08:00

2015-16 Focus Group Highlights During the 2015-16 school year, Big Valley Christian School parents were invited to participate in one of 11 different focus group meetings with our former Superintendent Bobby Kirchner to discuss their experiences at BVCS. Each meeting followed a similar outline discussing what things the participants felt were going well or working well, and what things they felt needed attention. We wanted to share with our school families the summary results of those meetings. Under the category of what is working well at BVCS, two themes were expressed in multiple ways at every meeting. Communication - parents are [...]

A Message from Bobby Kirchner, BVCS Superintendent,  I’m so grateful that we have a full time campus pastor this year devoted to our junior and senior high students. I want you to be informed about all things on our campus, and so I am excited for you to read this update from Scott Elliott, our  campus pastor. Junior High

2020-03-13T11:17:27-07:00

Our Big Valley Christian School junior high program challenges 7th and 8th-grade students to grow intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially. We provide a program that prepares students academically so that they will be equipped to succeed at the next level of their education. In addition, students are encouraged to participate in athletics, drama, music, and other co-curricular activities. This period of early adolescence is a time of transition, questioning, openness, and decision. Students in this age group are establishing themselves as Christian young people with a faith of their own. At Big Valley Christian School, the unique needs of junior [...]

2020-03-13T11:21:16-07:00

At Big Valley Christian School, we believe that a dynamic educational foundation sets the tone for a child’s lifelong learning process. To that end, BVCS provides a nurturing, Christ-centered environment in which elementary students can grow and develop into children who love to learn and discover. It is a privilege to partner with parents in our mission to provide educational excellence. In addition to the curriculum, which meets or exceeds California state standards, BVCS provides numerous activities and opportunities for students to develop their God-given gifts and talents.
