Every student at Big Valley Christian School is encouraged to discover the joy of creative expression regardless of ability. At the earliest ages, art projects are a central part of the learning process. As students grow and develop, many recognize that they have been gifted in this area. Preschool students engage in creative projects several times each week to help develop fine motor skills and to reinforce topical lessons. In the elementary classrooms, teachers use art projects as an important part of the learning process. Junior high students may take elective art classes, while high school students study art appreciation and can take elective classes where they experiment with many different mediums. High School students may also choose to take AP Art, study graphic design, and participate in the annual art show each spring.
